Emotion Turtles

They say emotions make you want to leave

But deep down you want to stay

Yet that depth is all emotion too

Emotion turtles all the way

It’s not that pain induces running

Rather it asks us why we stand

And let it ruin all we have

Without taking a stand

They say the pain has made you question

They say it’s evil that sows doubt

I say that suffering inquires

As to what it’s all about

Those in comfort need not question

If it’s all good then let it be

That’s why they’re not looking

And thus will never see
